Hello there! I’m Jon, and I’m a freelance web developer based in the beautiful city of Cardiff, UK.

I specialise in the creation and development of beautiful, functional and most importantly, usable websites that enable, empower and engage with users.
I believe in doing things right the first time, that accessibility and usability should be considered at every stage of the design and build process. I love sweating the details, because even the smallest changes can make a big difference, and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty if it makes the final product better.

I’ve been doing this professionally for almost ten years, four as a freelancer, and in that time I’ve worked with a veritable smorgasbord of clients from all sectors, including Orange (France Télécom), Jaguar-Land Rover, BMW, Kia UK, Hyundai, BP, Unite Students, The Royal Navy, English Heritage, The Imperial War Museum, UEFA, Drinkaware, ONE, Breast Cancer Care, Oxfam and the United Nations.

I am primarily an interface developer, so my key skills are in HTML, CSS (although I tend to use SASS), and JavaScript. I also speak HAML and SVG, and can use Photoshop and Illustrator without too many problems.

Away from the browser, I spent several years as a PHP developer, and the more I use Rails, the more I love it…

Away from the computer…

When I’m not hacking at code, I enjoy hiking, photography, good food, fast winding roads, and pretty much anything Hungarian.
I have a deep and abiding love for music, and have been known to play piano, guitar, and drums, as well as singing on the odd occasion. I’ve heard rumours to the effect that I may once have produced an EP, but I refuse to comment when questioned on this matter… maybe one day I’ll start using my Soundcloud account properly.
